Riedel Superleggero Burgundy Grand Cru Glass (Single)
This Riedel Superleggero Burgundy Grand Cru Glass is a masterpiece of state-of-the-art technology and is a machine-made version of the old handmade Superleggero.
The motivation to replace the original lies in the perfection of a machine-made glass compared to handmade. As Riedel glasses are finely tuned instruments that support wine enjoyment, it is essential that there is no variation in the design of the goblet and mouth rim diameter, as this is key to the varietal-specific philosophy.
The machine production of such a light and perfectly balanced glass was not previously possible, with existing technology. As a result, a machine was developed in-house that is capable of producing glasses to a quality indistinguishable from handmade. According to Riedel, the design of the new base plates with a diameter of up to 106 mm sets a new technical standard.
The Superleggero Burgundy Grand Cru glass is suitable for Barbaresco, Barolo, Beaujolais Grand Cru, Blauburgunder, Burgundy (red), Echezeaux, Gamay, Moulin-A-Vent, Musigny, Nebbiolo, Nuits Saint Georges, Palomino (Sherry), Pinot Noir (Pinot Nero), Pommard, Romanee St. Vivant, Santenay, Sherry, St. Laurent, Volnay, Vosne-Romanee and Vougeot.
