Cayenne pepper is a key flavouring in hot sauce and Nashville hot chicken. You can use it to spice up minced beef for burritos and enchiladas. Use it sparingly as the fiery kick can overwhelm the other flavours in your recipe. This fiery seasoning ranks between 30,000 to 50,000 on the Scoville scale.
Add a pinch of cayenne pepper to hot chocolate to give it a Mexican twist. Or, pair it with tomatoes, lime juice and coriander in pico de gallo. This fresh salsa is great with tacos and tortilla chips.
