The legendary Microplane grater (the one you’ll have seen Jamie and Nigella using and raving about) now has a Gourmet series – all the same sharpness and efficiency with just a little more user-friendliness added in. The black-handled coarse Gourmet model has a coarse blade which creates small strands of grated food that are slightly coarser than that of the fine blade. Ideal for grating hard cheeses such a pecorino and parmesan, as well as fruits and vegetables, garlic and ginger. The new rubber-coated bar at the end, and thicker, softer handle help with your grip and leverage while you’re grating away.

Microplane’s chemical-etched blades, still made by a family-owned company in America, are far more effective than traditional punched blades, so they cut effortlessly through hard or soft foods without tearing or shredding. The repeated groove pattern spread evenly across the different grating surfaces means less resistance, so grating requires less effort. it’s made from surgical grade stainless steel, with a comfortable, ergonomically designed plastic handle, so it feels fantastic in your hand and makes grating so easy.
