This Post Base Cover is only designed to be compatible with Framola Post Bases and MUST be installed at the same time as the Post Bases, it cannot be installed later. This listing is for the covers only.
The Framola Post Base Bracket enables you to easily create a solid foundation for installing upright timbers when building Pergolas, or constructing fence work or other structures. A secure installation can require up to 8 screws connecting the bracket to the wood, and the heads of these screws are visible to anyone looking at your handiwork. The Post Base Bracket Cover is an additional product which can be placed over the Post Base during installation to cover the screws for a clean, aesthetic finish.
During the installation of the post base, you should place the cover over top of the base before slotting the wood in, as doing it retroactively would require the pergola/fence to be disassembled. Once it is placed over the post base and the wood is slotted in, you need to lift the cover to screw the wood to the post base, and then slot it back over gently. The Post Base Cover is designed to sit nicely on top of the post base, whilst still allowing enough clearance for the wood to contract and expand depending on the climate and humidity.
These covers are also manufactured in the UK from Galvanised Steel and powder-coated to a clean, pleasing finish, available in all the same 4 colours and 4 sizes as our standard Post Base Brackets.
