Pinto Beans – Cool Chile Cowboy Bean Kit, 250g
Use this Cool Chile Co Cowboy Pinto Bean Kit to create authentic frijoles de charros. Named after traditional Mexican horsemen, or ‘charros’ these spiced pinto beans will bring a taste of Mexico to your home!
To get started you need one small onion, one garlic clove, ½ tin tomatoes and a neutral cooking oil such as rapeseed and you’ll be good to go. The set includes pinto beans, chiles de árbol, smoked paprika, a bay leaf and a recipe card with an additional bonus recipe.
Spiced Pinto Beans Cooking Instructions
Serves 4
- Cook beans with chiles de árbol, smoked paprika, onion and tinned tomatoes.
- Cooking time approximately 2 ½ hours (no need to presoak the beans)
- Serve topped with poached eggs, topped with chipotle powder and warmed cool chile corn tortillas.
